In 2011, there were plans with Dreamworks to re-theme Storybook Land and Old Macdonald’s Farmyard to a Shrek area, including a 4D cinema, but Dreamworks pulled out after they saw the final plans. They got all the theming ready, too!
[which explains the lack of stuff in 2011, and also explains the 4D Iceage thing in 2012]
Apparently, Enterprise and Submission closed for 2012 to help construction on SW7/The Smiler, but according to the 2012 map, they stayed open
X-sector was going to be called 'port discovery', and it would've had a theme like Alton Towers Hotel [mining/exploration] - Oblivion and Black Hole were to be rethemed
The Smiler was going to have a indoor smaller building as part of the track [machine with loads of sawblades]. it was also going to have a "washing machine" element on it, too
On the 2015 map, The Blade is absent, but Ripsaw was removed. IDK if this was a mistake, or if The Blade was meant to be removed
there was to be a kid's playground [and waterpark-like thing] in 2007, but this was scrapped in favour of Dungheap. DungHeap was also meant to be bigger than it was [more theming and more guff added]
AIR was to be steampunk-themed in an early concept. this was changed to be more like the rest of Forbidden Valley [and suspiciously looking like THE SWARM at Thorpe Park]
according to Towerstreet's Flickr page, there was a concept board entitled 'Ghost Rider' - and shows a picture of RITA - QUEEN OF SPEED, and also has the words 'remembering the 50's'. could RITA have been a 50's-themed ghost town coaster? whatever the case, they returned to this concept in 2010 for Dark Forest and TH13TEEN [sort of - are the wraiths ghosts?]
there was a ride plan called 'Duelling Deadstars', which looks like it could've been in X-sector [or Dark Forest, as... 2 RIDES]
in fact, this theory is pretty much confirmed a few pictures down - the words 'robocoaster: black hole' in X-sector font appear, which confirms Duelling Deadstars to be a scrapped X-sector concept
as it turns out, this was meant to be a full-blown re-theme of X-sector, so X-sector could've been a version of Dark Forest!
concepts for TH13TEEN feature a old castle instead of a crypt. the Duelling Deadstars are now in Dark Forest, with a evil robot villain of some kind [which confirms both theories]
the concepts for the 2004 wooden coaster are here, as well. RITA replaced the 2004 coaster plan, and 2018's Wicker Man replaced the OG wooden coaster plans
in Forbidden Valley, RIPSAW would've been called 'The Screw' - imagine that in Forbidden Valley nowadays! also included is a prototype logo [the same kind of logo that would later go on to be Ripsaw's logo]
also, there were plans for a Ripsaw shop, as shops in Forbidden Valley were [still are] lacking at the time, I think Nemesis had a shop, and that's it
another plan for X-sector, it would've been called 'AREA 51' instead. the slogan 'ENCOUNTER A NEW SPECIES OF TERROR' says to me any remains of this theme were carried over to Nemesis SUB-TERRA
Sharkbait Reef even had a prototype logo of its own - along with a different entrance
GALACTICA would've had a slightly different logo, along with a different entrance sign
there were plans for a broomstick-themed coaster for Gloomy Wood. if these plans has gone through, Wicker Man probably wouldn't exist
a re-theme of Cred Street was to be called Jazz Land, which would have included a 5D attraction, which probably would've had a load of technical flaws
when Dynamo was removed, there were plans to replace it with a balloon ride [forbidden or cred street], no clue how it would've fitted the Forbidden Valley theme, though
when the ice arena was a thing, there were plans to re-theme it to a sort of lost temple indoor attraction. these plans were dropped, however they were picked back up again by Merlin when they opened sharkbait reef in 2009
it's thought that project horizon was meant to have a minecraft theme
