-HEX has been closed for ages. this could mean it will get removed, or will re-open, I don't know
-enterprise has been dismantled. it also has been removed off of the app, so this could mean it might get removed - it has been at the park for a long time. if it's anything like the blade, it'll re-open, but...I'm not sure.
what I AM sure about though, is a DUEL re-theme. not only has a Merlin Magic Making van been seen round the back of the building, but a new teaser sign has been put up inside DUEL -
this sign has '06 + 09' written on it, which teases a date of the 6th of Sept 2022, what this means I don't yet know

TOWERS UPDATE ON 4/9/22 -
There has been a planning thing that’s been submitted to include a NEW thing in on-park.
Apparently, it’s gonna be around the back of the dungeons, where Coaster Corner was in the 90’s.
AL-SO, it’s also apparently going to be an indoor attraction, defo not SW9, if 2023 is gonna be a very family-centred year, they’ll probably start teasing SW9 in the start of the year, since that’s what they did for SW7 and SW8.
It’s almost guaranteed they’ll stick this new indoor attraction [I personally hope it’s a flying theatre, as that could work for DW. he’s also been seen on-park, so that’s another pointer to these theories]
in DW world, as to walk through a family land to get to a rollercoaster would be…naff
If they DID make it SW9, that would cut off a LOT of DW land, unless they knocked down the old 4D cinema (which is something I want to happen anyway) and build expansions behind there, or twice the driving school (again, DO IT ANYWAY, PLZ)

EDIT 22 SEPT 2022 - EDIT13: NEMESIS OF CLOSING - it's the day before the DHMIS TV show, and Towers have given a closing date for Nemmy - 6th of Nov. it will be closed for all of 2023, and will re-open in 2024. if they're smart, they MIGHT re-open [or re-theme] N-ST, but I'm not sure how they'll play this

EDIT 14 OCT 2022 - EDIT15: DUEL THE NEMESIS - there's been some work around sub-terra recently - this could mean a re-open or a re-theme, but I reckon they'll flatten it and put perma flat ride there - THAT WILL BE GOUD [even though ST is a flat ride itself, so either option will suit me]
...a new DUEL video has been filmed for Towers for Scarefest, purple smoke is coming from the house, what could this mean? [well, they've just installed a smoke emitter with a violet light, BUT IGNORE THAT]
signs saying 'warning, don't look inside!" have been put up along with a new fence with peepholes - and the voices in the clip could be whatever new set of eviltons that lurk inside the 're-possessed' house of DUEL
EDIT 3 NOV - BIG NOOZ, BIG NOOZ! we have a update from Towerstimes [that was released a few days ago, I'm slow] -
Planning permission has been submitted by Towers to build Project Horizon.
There are a few MASSIVE CLUES as to what this new ride [and possibly, area] could bring.
CLOO 1. There’s a new entrance portal planned. This kind of thing is ONLY done for new areas, so we could be looking at a park extension here
CLOO 2. Apparently, construction documents say building the thing will take 2 years, so if construction starts next year [2023], we could be seeing an opening year of 2025, which seems likely, considering how long Merlin make us wait for new coasters [insert picture of Wicker Man fence]
CLOO 3 - THE BIGGEST CLOO. apparently, both the Transport Statement and Economics Benefit Assessment say the ride will be a “new rollercoaster” and “new coaster”, thus pointing fingers at the obvious
EDIT 8 NOV 2022 - EDIT16: NEMESIS THE CHAOTIC - it's 2 days after nemesis closed [deja vu, anyone?!], and AT put a promotional video after the FIREVERX display - it has a Phalnax bloke in it, who told everyone about the NEMMY CREECHER's chaotic behaviour, and how they're gonna close it to run tests on her [yes, Nemmy is a she, I didn't know either]. the bloke is also super stingy when it comes to questions [cos he works at marketing, apparently. he also looks like The Smoiler Shop Teevee presenter - the male one, obviously], and ended the interview-thing after 5 seconds. THATS ALL ZA INFOMATIOIONS...except not, there could be a few more updates in the XMAHHHS event, cos that's appened before
EDIT 24 JAN 2023 - EDIT17: THE CURSE AT ALTON TOWERS - DA FOIST EDIT OF DA NOO YEAR!!!11111111 we have some new news regarding the DUEL refurb - this year, it'll be named 'The Curse at Alton Manor', and it KICKS THE GODAMN LASERS OUT!!!! thanks, Merlin. this is set to be more like the OG Haunted House than a KIDDEY version, with different marketing pointing towards the adult target [the ones who would've been in the OG HH rather than DUEL].
we also have some RS updates. apparently, all 3 have been removed [funk 'n fly, rollerdisco and spinjam]. there has been a twitter post from a fairground ride owner person asking for people to take the ride they've got - which is a techno Jump type, which matches the name Jumparound on the first RS video from 2021, which basically fills one spot in the 3. as for the other 2, who knows.
I hope Jumparound will be plonked in Dark Forest, as I don't think it will fit Forbidden Valley or X-sector
EDIT 12/FEB 2023 - EDIT18: CLEAR THE FOREST - according to Lift Hills and Thrills on YT, the new RS ride will replace rollerdisco in dark forest is a different ride, not sure of which type, but the name DISCO RING matches the pictures in LHaT's video.
I'm also starting to think Alton made a load of 'different outcome' names depending on what flats they get, so JUMPAROUND was a name for a techno jump they possibly could've got hold of, so the other names must belong to other rides they may or may get get from fairgrounds. this makes the RS fairly hard to guess, but I'm sure the names featured in SPINJAM's video are all just for show, I don't think they mean anything, since they sound like TRANSFORMERS than actual rides
EDIT 12/MAR 2023 - EDIT19: X-ENTERPRISES - THE SAME DATE ON MONTHER. this new RS ride has been installed in...enterprise's spot. yes, really. don't know the name of it though, but we DO have a interesting situation:

EDIT 16 MAR 2023 - EDIT20: TWISTATRON - I WAS RIGHT! IT IS TWISTATRON! there seems to be lore here, which is a bit weird.
2021: funk N fly, rollerdisco and mixtape get sent out in 1980 by one of the BUMPER robots on planet retrograde. all 3 of them get lost in time, and only turn up in 2021 in ForbiddenValley, DarkForest and X-Sector
2022: mixtape is called back to RetroGrade and is replaced by spinjam
2023: a evil robot called Spookspin captures rollerdisco and sends a message to retrograde to send out a new robot. they think the message was from rollerdisco and choose twistatron. on his way to earth, spookspin re-programs him and turns him evil. twistatron then lands in X-sector next to spinjam

EDIT 8 JAN 2024 - EDIT23: TOWERS REBORN - WELKOME 2 TWENTY TWENTY FOUR! they revealed the new Nemesis REBORN concept art poster thing, along with a trailer. what do I think? new nemmy design is fantastic, it looks a lot more like an actual monster as opposed to a poundland kid-toy. the logo was unexpected, I thought they'd stick with the 2nd logo instead of going back to the nostalgic 90's logo. the name NEMESIS REBORN was leaked AGES ago in a copyright filing thingy... but that aside, it's a good name for a even better revamped 90's classic drinks coaster!

WILL RIPPY RETURN LIKE THE EGG MUSEUM?! there's been several stages to this CUTTING EDGE [ha] plan:
1. firstly, I heard that towers are planning a new flat ride to appear in FUNK 'N FLY's spot. the height stats match up to RIPSAW's, plus the guy in charge says he wants to restore the alton towers magic from the past years. PLUS, HUSS was apparently was involved with this - HUSS was the maker of RIPSAW. this is enough evidence on its own, but we had a surprise twist later on...
2. I heard about a new plan from towers called "project ocean". this has something to do with RIPSAW, believe it or not. apparently, RIPSAW will be placed to face GALACTICA, and new theming will be installed. also, a new tunnel connecting GALACTICA and RIPSAW will be installed - this could mean that GALACTICA and RIPSAW will become a new area? the name OCEAN might point towards a hydro-themed land, however this could just be a plan name [actually, considering that RIPPY and other rides of the same type are fitted with fountains, this doesn't seem too far off from the truth] and we might just wind up with a sub-FORBIDDEN VALLEY land, although I don't think it will be called FORBIDDEN VALLEY when it opens in March. it might even be called ANTI-RETRO VALLEY! of course, this means that X-sector and Dark Forest will have to wait a few years, probably until 2025. will X-sector get a new flat? yes - 2 have closed [SUBMISSION AND ENTERPRISE]. will Dark Forest get a new flat? no chance, mate.
also, moving to CBeebies Land, has someone pulled out of a deal? Science Lab still looks like a right pain, after like 5 years. THIS IS REALLY POOR, YOU CHAPS...
they're probably focusing on HYPERIA and CADBURY WORLD, the FlightCoaster and furrybait HQ
[there's also a strong rumour that a part [or the whole thing of] the EXTRAORIDINARY GOLF site will be the site for SW9, but I'm not sure if the whole SW-plan has been dropped altogether]
EDIT 13 FEB 2024 - EDIT25: AUSSIE SCIENCE - along with the invasion of NEMESIS REBORN and PROJECT OCEAN, we now have another load of news: CBeebies land 10th ANIBERSERIE!!!! with 5 of those years featuring a closed science lab. nice one! HOWEVER! the marketing contains Bluey, the mentally popular ABC/BBC colab! now, at first I thought they'd scrap an event for this as they could milk it forever, however the way they've presented this year with Bluey makes me think something's happening here. SOSHITE! there's two attractions closed for HalfTerm - Bugbie Go Round
and Go Jetters. Jetters are still doing re-runs, however Bugbies are a lazy re-theme, so that might be out soon. BUT! apparently there's some of them fences around the science lab - which means that Bluey might get not only a MeetAndGreet thing, but she also might get a re-themed attraction. if there's a boatload of marketing plus constructer fences, then I'm pretty sure that Towers will get Bluey attraction, since if they do, they'll be able to flaunt it like it's the first of its kind... oh wait it will be
EDIT 13 MAR 2024 - EDIT26: A MYSTERIOUS BUILDING - 2 newzes this edit. according to the ReportLots, The Dungeons will be closing this year to be sorted out for a ScareFest event. we don't yet know if the Dungeons brand will be staying, but it looks unlikely, probably cos the extra charge for the dungeons made it unpopular. THE OTHER NEWS is that there's a plan for a new building near to Curse. what will it be? we don't know yet, however there is a CLOO thanks to the building looking suspiciously like the SURVIVAL GAMES building at Thorpe. will this be a new scare maze for towers? it's possible, since it's near to Curse, the Emily scaries train ride
EDIT 16 MAR 2024 - EDIT27: R-CADE - NEMMY AS OPENED TODAE! the Forbidden Valley refresh is very good, they put a FB portal at the entrance, and changed the Nemesis sign to say "nemesis containment unit". there's lore now, with #seekthetruth characters appearing around the aera on opening day, plus many #seekthetruth theming details around the area. will we be seeing more lore here? considering that Galactica and what will replace Funk'n fly will be a new area most likely next year if Horizon doesn't appear, it seems likely. what's more, the possible arcade unit "R-CADE" still hasn't been finished, however it looks big, almost too big just for an arcade - will we be seeing a new addition inside later on? probably not, but it'll be interesting how they split Galactica off from Nemmy in PROJECT OCEAN. furthermore, Bluey gets added to Beebies on 23rd march, they revealed the hotel room, which was expected. considering that there's construction walls a re-pained Science Lab, will this simply be a new meet 'n greet or will it be a new attraction? considering that they've already got a proper stage for meet 'n greets, I can't see them adding a new stage just for 2 characters, although they have brought out dual characters with no theming at all before, it all really depends on if they want to make it more appealing or not
EDIT 15 APR 2024 - EDIT28: CONFUSERS - so right, I just had a look at the website, and it seems that they want to do the Bluey meet 'n greets at Big Fun Showtime, which already exists. if they want to make an extra stage out of the old X-perimentals Lab, then that would have no point whatsoever [Big Fun is only a few steps away from it]. considering that the colours used behind the fences for the lab seem to be the generic CBeebies colours [blue/yellow], it seems likely that this won't be a Bluey attraction, which is a bit of a waste, to be honest. if they're getting a new stage in for the meet 'n greets, then WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT IF IT IS ONLY 2345678765432 STEPS AWAY FROM THE FIRST STAGE THE OPENED IN 2014
EDIT 10 JUN 2024 - EDIT29: LATE BY HOW LONG?! - finally Towers have opened that sensory room in CBeebies land. only 5 years late - that's a new world record! well done. it's interesting, since they must've had technical issues with getting it up and running, even though the only technical thing in it is a new bubble tube [not the old one, they ripped those out], so the issue must've been with getting the actual stuff inside, since there's some custom-made equipment [like the 2024 new beebies bug cushion thing], so they must've been a bit late. come to think of it, had they gotten a move on earlier, then it would've A. looked a lot different inside and B. also would've had to be changed like 5 years later due to the desing change of the bugs. that aside, they've done a good job on it. the theming is generic, which isn't too much of a problem. the fake solar panels on top haven't been removed for some reason, it was a Nina theming element, plus the painted arrows on the floor outside [which was for a board that said "what's the greatest invention to exist?" and had a mirror on the reverse side] haven't been scrubbed off, plus the board is still there, albeit ripped out and replaced with a new board. it looks a bit bare though, like there's some stickers missing from it, maybe they'll get added later? there seems to be a staff member monitoring how many people go in at any one time, after all it's a fairly small space. WELL DONE BBC, FOR ABOUT HALF OF THE LANDS LIFESPAN YOU LEFT THE BLOODY THING CLOSED AND DECIDED TO OPEN IT ONLY 24 HOURS AGO. VERY WELL DONE
EDIT 22 JUN 2024 - EDIT30: GALACTI-GONE SOON - there's some signs pointing to Galactica getting removed/re-themed in the future -
SIGN 1: there was a SEEKTHETRUTH symbol spray painted behind the Galactic sign outside. that was certainly planned, as that's not an easy place to get to, I don't think it was a random plonker who put it there or anything like that
SIGN 2: there was some laser distance cameras seen around the entrance of the ride, like what was seen before Hyperia started construction
but what will happen to it? I guess maybe it will get a repaint to fit in with the rest of Nemmy Valley. I'll be damned if they rip the entire thing out, but okay
EDIT 19 JUL 2024 - EDIT31: SCARY PANTS COMING - recently, they put up fences around the alton towers dungeon. the themed sign outside now promotes a teaser for scarefest 2024. now, the big question - what will this maze be themed to? based on how scarefest normally runs off the back of paid scaremazes, I wouldn't be surprised if the dungeons brand returns with an extended run-time, maybe with the boat ride removed in favour of one or two more scenes. but on the other side of the [chocolate] river [HA!], they could easily turn it into a Dark Forest themed maze, I think that'll work. and what about the new maze being built in the space between Forbidden Valley and Gloomy Wood? what will that be themed to? on one hand...
it could be themed to Emily Alton, as they could do a bit of storyline building here, but there's not much they could do, or...
...they could make it a Forbidden Valley themed maze. I think this one is more likely to happen, based on how Nemmy Reborn opened this year and the obvious inclusion of the #seekthetruth thing they've got going on at the moment. it was over everywhere on opening day, plus it seems to be a big part of the theming, so to build on that with a scare maze would be a good idea - they've done this kind of thing before with The Sanctuary and The Welcoming before, so I guess it could work...
EDIT 13 AUG 2024 - EDIT32: GUFF ON THE HORIZON - I think I may have figured out the plan for project horizon - the construction has apparently been delayed for a year [2024], and will start in 2025. this means that the ride will open in 2026 - keep that in mind when I tell you that there's a limited license on walliams land - it probably doesn't have that long left on it right now. if we combine the walliams facts and the horizon facts, then the plan might be clear - towers are probably waiting for the walliams stuff to expire before they open the new ride that's on the horizon [lol!!!!], probably so they can turn walliams into a new area, this'll probably mean them flattening the old 4D cinema building and hopefully dealing with the older nick outta control building, which has been there since the 90's [!!!]. doing so will mean a lot [and I mean a LOT] of space for rides, and if this happens, they'll have a perfect chance to up their flat rides count, as it is now at an all time low [at least before the splishy splashy rippy ocean ride opens]. but what does this mean for the future of walliams? no, not the author, the place. I guess the area with project horizon [and walliams world] will become a new family area, seeing as how that corner of the park has been like that since forever [land of make believe, cred street, cloud cuckoo land, ect ect ect] and it would seem like a wasted op to not do so

EDIT 11 SEPT 2024 - EDIT35: CUTTY CUTTY CUT CUT NEW STUFF - a new trademark has been filed for the ripsaw reboot - and apparently, it won't be called ripsaw... it'll be called TOXICATOR. is it a good name? yep. will it fit the ride? only if all traces of ripsaw are removed and it doesn't feel like a rebooted ripsaw
EDIT 19 SEPT 2024 - EDIT36: MINE AND CRAFTY - apparently, there was a question thing that was sent to several theme park fans. they were told to keep it private, but that idea got thrown out the window pretty quickly. apparently, a MINECRAFT themed area will turn up in a uk theme park. at the same time, chessington decides to release plans for a new area and building - while also closing scorpion express. apparently there'll be a indoor rollercoaster in this new area - and this is rumoured to be related to the MINECRAFT theme. but I hear you shouting at me from mars - "BUT WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT CHESSINGTON NEWS ON THE ALTON TOWERS BIT?!" well, I'll tell you - considering that chessington and towers are both merlin parks, this plan has got one very important detail - the indoor coaster. towers was meant to get project horizon in 2025/2026 but so far, no construction has actually happened. since chessington has suddenly blurted out that they're getting an indoor coaster, it's very likely that merlin has scrapped horizon for the coaster and has instead decided to chuck the same idea at chessington - which begs the question, what the hell will replace horizon? and does this mean walliams world will get renewed and stay open instead of getting a minecraft re-theme? EDIT 20 OCT 2024 - EDIT37: SW DROPPED?! - based on the info we have about what project horizon could've been [and how it's possibly not happening], maybe the rumoured SW9 doesn't exist? it was teased a few years ago in december as part of an instagram post, so where is it? based on how SW8 was in 2018, it's about time a new one appeared - and it hasn't, which says to me that it's either still coming up or it's been dropped. we will only really know in the next few years, but if anything, it won't come soon - currently, they're doing stuff to do with flat rides - hence toxicator and possible additions to X-sector
EDIT 6 NOV 2024 - EDIT38: GALACT-COMEBACK?? - the KAENWORKS are here, and its got a theme - PHALANX EXPO. the name might not mean anything, but the logo certainly does - it has galactica's colours as well as a space-age theme, which makes me think that they're gonna start to market the return/re-theme of galactica. EDIT 20 DEC 2024 - EDIT40: BEEBIES - today, towers have announced that they're gonna build a new junior coaster in CBeebies land, kind of like octonauts. guesses as to the theme? one word - BLUEY. I'll be really surprised if they pull something else out. they're gonna start building it in 2025 in time for 2026, but what does this really mean? it means that their 2026 plans are all booked up - and horizon was originally thought to be coming that year. IS IT STILL HAPPENING THOUGH??? as for where the coaster is gonna go, probably either in the space next to andy's. if they don't do that, they'll have to start forcing their way into spinball's plot of land - will that work? octonauts basically erased the rest of adventure land in 2015, spinball doesn't have much left, but on the other hand, they did replace some of the ride equipment, so in reality, I don't think it's going anywhere soon
EDIT 21 DEC 2024 - EDIT41: OUT OF A JOB - I watched theme park worldwide's video on the beebies coaster today and I learnt that there were some markings around postman pat's ride - out of all rides. this means that this is where the coaster's gonna go - and it's a big plot of land. but what irks me is that 2026 was the year horizon was meant to open at the latest - so like, this makes me think that someone was annoyed that horizon went to chessington instead of towers [and so they can't change walliams world to minecraft] and decided to plonk a different coaster in cbeebies despite already having one, which is octonauts
EDIT 21 FEB 2025 - EDIT42: FAKE RECORDS - welcome to new year!!11!!! they dropped the toxicator video today, and guess what? I've got a bit of an irk with this ride. see, they'd decided to make it "record breaking", and normally they use some kind of special feature or idea [in the case of wicker man], but in this case they've just decided to throw in the towel and stick it on a bunch of concrete, which somehow makes it the tallest topspin in the world. it's got nothing to do with the ride itself, though. this kind of ticks me off, it's not the first time merlin's done this, the first time was actually with minifigure speedway at legoland, which had this "record breaking" giant minifigure [it got beaten by another giant minifigure quite quickly as as another legoland "stole" the idea as they do open the same rides at other parks] which did nothing to the ride. they are not having to make "record breaking ideas" now, they are literally sticking some guff next to the ride and apparently that's enough
EDIT 10 MAR 2025 - EDIT43: MARKEY MARKERS - so towers is open [somewhat], and there's 2 things we know. first off, Amigos in the Afterlife is returning next scarefest so nothing is happening with that building right now [we know this thanks to how they kept up the signs from that attraction]. and the last thing is that there's been some markings sighted around the area that scarey thing is [along with the old dungeons theming outside]. this means they're possibly planning something new to be plonked their, but what could it be? hopefully they'll retain the boat ride though, they need more indoor things for "when the weather's not so great" - black hole video from bluethefortune on WHYTEE
EDIT 18 AUG 2025 - EDIT44: FINALLY! NEW STUFF - the scarefest new maze has been announced - Dark Hollow. the building near dark forest could've been a clue but anything could've been whacked in there to be honest. I'm surprised it is a dark forest themed maze - nothing has been done with this area since the 2010's. even in the first teaser for this maze it was kind of obvious it was a dark forest maze based on, well... EVERYTHING. I'm surprised it's a free maze, too. burial grounds was the last recent free wicker man themed scare maze thing so I'm glad to see them doing more free stuff. they're also keeping all the usual stuff from before. I wouldn't be surprised if this all leads to up to a dark forest overhaul but I don't think that's going to happen [even though rita keeps breaking more than stealth but let's not get ahead of ourselves]
EDIT 20 AUG 2025: EDIT45: CRIKEY ITS HAPPENING AGAIN - same as last year, as soon as I make a scarefest entry, more information gets revealled - and I'm positive this maze is inside the dark forest building - Edge of the Forest. I'm guessing Dark Hollow will be in dark forest, too. I didn't think dark forest would get this much attention, esp. with how trashed rita's been lately. I thought they'd avoid the area like... and actual dark forest
EDIT 8 SEPT 2025: EDIT46: OH WOW i DIDNT SEE THAT COMING!!11!!! - most predictable newzes this edit. in fact, this should be given an award for being the most predictable thing in human history. they have confirmed that EVERYONE WAS RIGHT, IT IS A BLUEY COASTER!!! technically its a worlds first [worlds first bluey ride] but let's not get into that right now.
